Stern Antares: Ich habe in den Himmel geschaut und habe den hellen Stern Antares gesehen. Er war heute der einzige grössere Stern, den ich durch mein Seestar S30 anschauen konnte (wegen der Wolken) Zuvor wusste ich gar nicht, dass es ihn gibt. Aber jetzt habe ich gelernt dass Antares ein roter Überriesenstern im Sternbild Skorpion. Er ist etwa 700-mal größer als die Sonne und rund 550 Lichtjahre entfernt. Wegen seiner rötlichen Farbe wird er auch der „Gegenspieler des Mars“ genannt.
Trotz seiner enormen Leuchtkraft ist Antares relativ kühl – etwa 3.400 °C an der Oberfläche. Er ist leicht mit bloßem Auge zu sehen und gehört zu einem Doppelsternsystem mit dem kleinen Begleiter Antares B.
Antares wird am Ende seines Lebens als Supernova explodieren – ein Ereignis, das für kurze Zeit heller als der Vollmond sein könnte.

Star Antares: I looked up at the sky and saw the bright star Antares. It was the only larger star I could see today through my Seestar S30 (because of the clouds). Before, I didn’t even know it existed. But now I’ve learned that Antares is a red supergiant star in the constellation Scorpius. It is about 700 times larger than the Sun and about 550 light-years away. Because of its reddish color, it is also called „Mars’s counterpart.“
Despite its enormous luminosity, Antares is relatively cool—about 3,400°C at its surface. It is easily visible to the naked eye and belongs to a binary star system with its small companion AntaresB.
Antares will explode as a supernova at the end of its life—an event that could briefly be brighter than the full Moon.
