M106 Spiralgalaxie: Die Messier 106 gehört zu den eindrucksvollsten Spiralgalaxien in unserer kosmischen Nachbarschaft. Sie liegt im Sternbild Jagdhunde und ist etwa 23 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt.
Was sie besonders macht, sind ihre ungewöhnlichen Strukturen: Neben den sichtbaren Spiralarmen besitzt M106 sogenannte „anomale Arme“, die sich nicht dem typischen Muster fügen. Im Zentrum verbirgt sich ein aktives Schwarzes Loch, das gewaltige Energiemengen freisetzt und die Galaxie formt.

Messier 106 is one of the most impressive spiral galaxies in our cosmic neighborhood. It lies in the constellation Canes Venatici and is about 23 million light-years from the Milky Way.
What makes it so special are its unusual structures: In addition to the visible spiral arms, M106 possesses so-called „anomalous arms“ that do not conform to the typical pattern. At its center lies an active black hole that releases enormous amounts of energy and shapes the galaxy.
